After a long stint with the military then going into the retail sector, I found myself managing a very large and busy building in the center of Birmingham for over 10 years before deciding to get out of the crazy rat race and move to Stoke on Tern here in Market Drayton in 2016.

No such luck about retiring early, hubby and I found ourselves working for the company that owns our Residential Park, Laird Estates Group who own several Residential Parks in the UK.

My involvement with the Drayton Arts Festival team began a number of years ago following a chat with Suzanne Edwards. Suzanne’s enthusiasm for our town is infectious. I am delighted to say that enthusiasm rubbed off.

The Gingerbread Hunt and the Halloween Shop Window Display Competition evolved into an annual event. Last year saw us incorporating the Gingerbread Hunt with the Trick or Treat with the shop owners around town and various events held in the Library. Working with local organisations and members of the local community is a pleasure.

I cannot wait to celebrate the upcoming 10th Anniversary with our wonderful community.
