Denise McGowan
ArtsFest Co-ordinator
Denise started teaching Art & Textiles in 1991, working both in London and Hampshire with a variety of abilities and age groups.
On leaving teaching to have her daughters she started working for herself, always encouraging others to be creative.
When she moved to Market Drayton in the summer of 1999 it wasn’t long until she opened a craft workshop for children and adults offering one off ‘making’ experiences, pottery painting, silversmithing, book binding, millinery and stained glass among other crafts.
This closed in 2005 because Denise was pursuing another business venture but she continued to support Art and Technology education in local Primary and Secondary schools, which she still does today.
In 2017 she pursued Psychology and Counselling training to enable her to offer Therapeutic Art sessions which she offers individually and in group sessions through many different media.
She has recently had exhibitions of her watercolour paintings and started taking commissions again.
